Logistics Management is the planning and implementation of the effective and efficient forward (manufacturer to consumer) and backward (consumer to producer) movement of products and services, finance and information flow in the supply chain from the point where the products are produced to the point of consumption where the end use is made to meet the needs of the customers. and is controlled. Managing this process effectively and efficiently is an increasingly important issue and is only possible with an adult and well-equipped workforce with interdisciplinary knowledge.
Under the conditions of competition, which is getting more and more difficult with each passing day, it is only possible for companies to survive and be one step ahead of their competitors with their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Every decision taken for logistics processes; It is possible to conduct it more efficiently with the integration of up-to-date information technologies and trained and equipped manpower in order to analyze it correctly. The rapid growth in the logistics sector for years, the intense competition with international companies caused a shortage of qualified manpower in the sector and brought about a change in the existing logistics manager profile. The logistics industry now needs trained personnel who are not only experienced in the sector, but also analytically thinking, competent in numerical matters, having a good command of all technical aspects of logistics, but also having interdisciplinary knowledge, who can speak at least two foreign languages.
Content of the Training
The Logistics Management Department, whose education and teaching language is 100% English, trains its students for this purpose and aims to prepare them for business life as experienced Logistics designers who produce optimal/near optimal solutions in national and international companies. Our Department’s Undergraduate Program is constantly updated in line with the changing curricula of universities abroad, which have a high reputation in the field of logistics, according to the changing and developing logistics sector. Students are required to take 240 ECTS (credits) for graduation. While compulsory basic courses are given in the first 4 semesters, in the last 4 semesters, some compulsory courses are given as optional courses in the department. In addition to the language of instruction being English, second foreign language courses (German, Russian, French, Italian or Spanish) can be chosen among university elective courses. Students can choose the field courses they want to specialize in from the rich elective course pool.
