Department of Logistics Management constantly renews and updates its program in line with developing technological developments in order for its students to adapt to this changing and developing world. In this direction, the Department of Logistics Management has started to provide certified ERP training to its students in cooperation with CANIAS IAS company since 2018. Department of Logistics Management students are required to take the Senior Project course for two semesters in their final year. Students, together with their academic advisors assigned to them within the scope of the Graduation Project course, try to identify and then solve a problem of one of the companies they cooperate with in the sector for two semesters. Students practically experience how to solve the problems that companies face in real life, using the theoretical knowledge they have acquired throughout their education. In addition, Logistics Management Department students must complete a 22-day compulsory internship in production or logistics companies before graduating from the department. Students have the opportunity to get to know business life more closely and combine theory and practice through compulsory sectoral internships. In addition, thanks to study abroad programs, students can have the opportunity to improve their languages, get to know different cultures, gain different perspectives and thus start their business life ahead of their competitors.
In this regard, while the students of the Department of Logistics Management become multifunctional individuals by taking interdisciplinary courses, the Department of Logistics Management provides its students with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in the conditions of increasing international competition in the sector, providing them with lifelong learning that can produce effective solutions to the supply chain and logistics problems encountered in national and international companies. It aims to prepare candidate managers for a successful logistics career by adopting principles, following the developments in technology and transferring the knowledge they have acquired to business life. https://lm.yasar.edu.tr/uluslararasi-lojistik-yonetimi-bolumu-lisans-programi/
Maturity Level: 3
- Course distribution balance of the program
As a Logistics Management undergraduate program, it has a curriculum consisting of eight semesters and a total of 240 ECTS. The course distribution balance of the program is determined within the scope of the faculty members’ areas of expertise and course loads (https://lm.yasar.edu.tr/kadro/).
Course assignments are made based on the workload determined by the Rectorate, depending on the academic titles and administrative loads of the faculty members. By creating a pool of elective courses from different fields during academic periods, students are given the opportunity to choose courses that appeal to their different interests. Course distribution balances in the program (compulsory, field elective, faculty elective and university elective courses) have been created in accordance with both the YÖK framework regulation and our university’s undergraduate curriculum simplification rules. Department of Logistics Management 2023-2024 Fall Semester course schedule has been announced on our website.
Logistics Management Master’s Programs have a curriculum consisting of 120 ECTS in four semesters. Department of Logistics Management Master’s Programs 2023-2024 Fall Semester course schedule has been announced on our website.

- Monitoring and updating programs
In each academic term, the courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum are systematically foldered, and if there are closed courses, statistical files are prepared for them. Statistical indicators related to education and training (courses opened each semester, number of students, success rates, course diversity, lab practice, undergraduate/graduate balances, number/reasons for disengagement, etc.) are regularly monitored, discussed, evaluated and compared.
Care is taken to ensure that the student distribution in field elective courses is balanced, and the number of students choosing each course, the number of students passing and failing the course, and the success score ranges of the students are recorded through the Student Information System (OBS). Department meetings are held every academic term to evaluate whether there is a need to update the curriculum. Our department’s External Advisory Board has been established. Every academic year, an External Advisory Board meeting is held to evaluate whether there is a need to update the undergraduate and graduate curricula, considering the suggestions and opinions of external stakeholders (see https://lm.yasar.edu.tr/paydas-modeli/; eng. https:/ /lm.yasar.edu.tr/en/stakeholder-model/.
Maturity Level: 4
- Management of education and training processes
In our department, the education program process begins with the decision of the department board, the relevant decision is discussed in the University Education and Training Commission, it is submitted to the Senate in its final form and is completed with the approval of the Senate. The legal basis of the process is the Curriculum Update Directive on Opening Departments and Programs in Associate, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education. All decisions and correspondence regarding the process are made through the Electronic Document Management System. In each academic term, course and exam program preparations are carried out under the coordination of the Central Academic Planning Coordination within the Rectorate, by applying the rules determined by the Coordination at monthly meetings with the participation of course and exam program managers. In addition, in these meetings, the process of carrying out education and training processes is monitored, and PUKÖ cycles are created to eliminate possible problems (https://lm.yasar.edu.tr/puko-cevrimleri/; eng. https://lm.yasar.edu. en/en/pdca-cycles/.
