PLAN
The Logistics Management Department’s curriculum at Yaşar University consists of Mandatory Courses specified in the Pre-Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation, University Mandatory Courses, and YÖK (Higher Education Council) Mandatory Courses, along with Elective Courses in the Field category. The education plan, outlining the list of mandatory courses the student must take each semester, the total credits for elective courses, and any prerequisites, has been prepared in accordance with the Bologna rules and our university’s rules for simplifying undergraduate programs. The Program Outcomes (Program Competencies) define the knowledge, skills, and competencies that students should acquire until graduation. Information on Minor and Double Major programs, program prerequisites, and application requirements can be found on our department page. Detailed information on universities participating in the Erasmus program is also available on our website. Additionally, information on internship opportunities, application requirements, and prerequisites can be found on the Programs page. The curriculum planning takes into account the curriculum structures of domestic and international universities, as well as industry demands. The course schedule for the Spring semester of the 2022-23 Academic year has been prepared by Course Program Coordinators in accordance with the principles and schedule set by the Central Academic Planning Coordination and entered into the Yaşar University Management System (YUMS).
DO
During the registration dates determined in the Yaşar University Academic Calendar, undergraduate, Minor, and Double Major students made their course selections through the Student Information System (OBS) from the created spring semester course program. The courses registered by students were reviewed by academic advisors and approved on the days specified in the Course Registration Calendar determined by the Student Affairs Directorate. Undergraduate students made their course selections within the scope of the “Yaşar University Pre-Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation.” Minor and Double Major students also registered according to the “Double Major and Minor Education and Examination Directive.” Transfers between associate and undergraduate programs, as well as the principles of Double Major, Minor, and inter-institutional credit transfers at higher education institutions, have been carried out in accordance with the regulations governing these processes.
CHECK
During the 2022-2023 Spring semester course selections, it has been determined that students who transferred horizontally or vertically according to the “Regulation on the Principles of Transition between Associate and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions” and those who registered in accordance with the “Yaşar University Pre-Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation” are exempt from certain YÖK (Higher Education Council) Mandatory and University Mandatory Courses due to the conducted equivalency assessments. As a result of these exemptions, it has been identified that there are deficiencies in ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits. As a requirement, these students are obligated to take additional elective courses within this context.
ACT
Academic advisors have assessed potential general issues that may arise before registration, and measures have been taken to ensure that students do not encounter problems during the registration period. In this context:
- The registrations of Logistics Management Department students have been carried out in accordance with the Yaşar University Pre-Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation. Within this framework, academic advisors for the Logistics Management Department have first ensured that students take the mandatory courses they failed, and subsequently, students have gained the right to enroll in courses from the current semester for the remaining credit hours.
- To prevent issues with the elective course credits that students need to take, a proportional number of elective courses have been opened, and quotas suitable for the number of students have been determined.
- Care has been taken to avoid scheduling conflicts for mandatory courses in the same semester to reduce any hardship in students’ course registrations.
